Ian's 1st summer - Hot, Hot , Hot!!!!

Good News from the Doctor...
Last Monday we had our appointment with the hematologist to review Ian's lab and determine if he had a coagulation condition that was the trigger for the excesive bleedeing after the surgery. Thansks to God! He is OK, he did have some minor discrepancies in two cuagulation factors but it was too little to diagnose a condition. The doctor said he could live the rest of his life without even noticing those minors discrepancies and there is no reason for us to worry about it in the future. She recommended as a preventive action to infuse him plasma before the next two surgeries and that will do. We are planning to schedule the next surgery for June and after that the final surgery for November.... we are hoping to begin 2011 with all the surgeries done...On the other hand Ian is starting to be a menance in the house... he is the most adventurous and risky litle toddler that I've met, he keep us on out feet all day long running after him.. and we love it!!! Receintly he has started to mimic everything Paula does, he has started to give instructions to Camila (his ten month cousing) just the way Paula does.... very funny...

It's hard to believe that Ian has been over three months with us already. The last few months has been an emotional rollercoaster. Ian had his palate surgery and with that came some complications: 18 days at the hospital, 5 blood transfusions and 2 days at intensive care. Thank God he is fine now and back home doing normal toddler things. He is starting to speak Spanish, words like: mama, baba, gracias, mano, ven, hola and Te amo and some English words too like: bye and hello. He recognized body parts and understand everything we speak. The most important thing is that he adores Paula and vice versa. Here are a few pictures were you can see how big he is by now, is not rare since he is a nonstop eater... we might need to start a diet soon.

Ian's first week @ home
We arrived home on November 6th, 2009 after three weeks away. We could not miss Paula more. At the airport Paula and Ian met for the first time, afterjust a few hours they were playing.
